Baggage: the most common add-on
The included personal item may be enough for a short trip. Once you need a large cabin bag or checked luggage, compare the surcharge on both outbound and return flights.
Seats: pay only when location matters
Airlines sell allocated seats at variable prices. If sitting together or choosing a specific row is not essential, automatic allocation can remove a surcharge.

Airport: penalties cost more than planning ahead
EasyJet, for example, states that an unpaid or oversized bag brought to the gate incurs a high airport fee. Airlines generally price online additions more favourably than gate fixes.
Changes and flexibility
A very cheap fare with expensive change rules can become costly when dates are uncertain. Compare change fees and fare conditions, not only the initial gap.
Airport transfer can reverse the ranking
A flight €20 cheaper from a distant airport may lose its advantage after shuttle, parking or an extra hotel night. Add the full home-to-airport round trip.
Our formula
Fare + necessary baggage + necessary seating + possible payment/admin fees + airport transfer + flexibility margin. Compare that total across airlines.
How we work
We verify information, cite sources where relevant and date our updates. Prices, availability and rules that may change should always be checked again with the relevant source or service.
